Story:
My Journey with Queenie began in 2008. She wasn't the horse I been looking for at all. Too small, too stubburn and far too opinionated. But during our very first ride, she showed me that she was different. She carried me calmly and confidently, even though she refused to take a single step for other riders and had even been known to lie down with someone on her back. From that moment on, I knew we belonged together.

Since then, Queenie an I have been through life's highs and lows together. We've shared countless adventures, trail rides, holidays, carriage drives and even swimming trips. She has always been by my side as my partner, my friend and my greatest teacher. During the hardest times, she was my safe place, my mirror and my biggest source of strength.

Now, at 31 years old, Queenie is enjoying her well-earned retirement on the ranch. She may no longer be the fastest but she's still the quiet leader of the herd. She's proud, wise and carrying the kind of presence everyone notices. She usually greets me with a soft nicker, loves bananas more than anything and reminds me every day what a true partnership between horse and human really means.

Queenie is more than just my first horse. She is the reason everything began and the heart of what Rancho La Calma is today. Without Queenie, this dream would never have existed.
